Please use the specified formatting guidelines mentioned below. Abstract submissions with deviant formatting will not be processed.

General information

• Abstracts must be written in English

• Abstract word limit: max. 250 words (excluding headers)

• You are allowed to add a maximum of one figure or table to your abstract. Please send this to aks@amc.uva.nl mentioning your name and abstract title.

• The format for AKS abstracts follows the Rationale-Methods-Results-Conclusion structure . If a results or conclusion section is not relevant (e.g., for abstracts describing a study protocol), please describe expected results and possible implications instead.

• Separate each section of your abstract into its own paragraph. Use section headers.

Abstracts
Submitted abstracts are blinded and reviewed by two independent experts. Authors of selected abstracts are invited to pitch their work during the Amsterdam Kindersymposium on Friday 5 February 2027. Please read the guidelines carefully before submitting an abstract.
Further instructions for selected authors will follow by email. Registration for the symposium is mandatory for presenting authors.

Masterclass
Upon submission, authors can indicate whether they wish to be considered for the AKS Masterclass 2027. The six highest-rated abstracts will be invited to participate in the Masterclass. During the Masterclass, researchers present their research to a panel of six experts (the masters). The masters provide targeted feedback on content, presentation, and style, and briefly share their own experiences with career development. The Masterclass offers researchers a unique opportunity to further develop themselves and find inspiration. The Masterclass takes place on Monday 2 February 2027. Selected authors will be notified by email.
